Naramdaman mo na ba ang inis na nakakagigil?
We should recognize, without any doubt, that what Hayden has done is way beyond being heinous. He, along with all those who would attempt to emulate him, deserves a well implemented blow of punishment from the people and the sisterhood of women. Let us not dwell too much on the details, though we should admit that those are really disturbing.
However, we are all being dragged around by the hype of the Hayden-Katrina scandal which has been escalated to the senate already. That would have been tolerable, if avenues for justice and redress are what we seek. At this rate however, it cannot be just put to rest. The matter at hand has become too overrated, that it already snuff out all other important issues that the nation needs to attend to at the moment. What with CARP, the opening of classes and the murderous problems of the youth, we are being drawn, forced by the media to focus on something relatively trivial. Although I dare say that coming out in the open and facing the ordeal of shame on the part of Ms. Halili is commendable.
Hearing the news earlier, with the reporters bothering to mention the characters of this scandal-turned-telenovela's fashion statements and choice of clothing by lucky color, I grit my teeth and rant over and over again, wishing that before everyone else lose their sanity, they'd all get a grip and realize that the money and airtime spent on this hype are all senseless and futile, if only to serve the interests of a few. It is all too obvious with the way things are going.
I expect there is a fat chance that justice would be elusive for the victim. And I expect a hundred percent probability, that ninety nine percent of similar and worse cases involving faceless and nameless women victims who did not have the money and influence that these characters have would see justice slipping out from their hands and running away faster than water would do.
And there would be more rantings.. There would be more women crying, not in front of the cameras and the whole nation but behind closed doors of dark rooms. There would be more silence.
Sa lahat ng ka-chakahan na nagaganap ngayon, ********** lahat!!!
Nakakainis na lang talaga!
I appreciate the presupposed act, but not the intentions. I do not question the need for justice. What I question is that we have all become too selective of giving opportunities to everyone, and that includes having access to heal the wounds of oppression and abuse.

Kabataan Partylist Rep on CARP
Below is the Explanation of Vote of Kabataan Party-list Rep. Mong Palatino against HB 1257 An Act Accelerating the Completion of the Land Acquisition and Distribution Component of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), By Providing Automatic Appropriation Thereof, and Addressing Major Implementation Problems of the Program, Amending for the Purpose Republic Act No. 6657, As Amended, Otherwise Known as “The CARP Law of 1988” and Executive Order 129, As Amended :
I vote “NO” to HB 1257, I vote “NO” to extending the present Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).
I vote NO because CARP extension would only create more opportunities for land owners and agribusiness firms to further consolidate their control over agricultural lands.
HB 1257 specifically provides for a “farmland as collateral,” an essential element of market-oriented land reform. Farmers who would avail of this provision may just find their lands foreclosed, thus resulting in the return of already-redistribut ed agricultural lands to the ownership of landlords and big agribusinesses.
I vote NO HB CARP extension because the present CARP has failed to stop bankrupt farmers from selling or transferring distributed lands despite so-called prohibitions on such transfers.
CARP failed to fulfill the constitutional mandate on agrarian reform program, as clarified by the Supreme Court by stating that “through the agrarian reform, the farmer at last will be released not only from want but also from the exploitation and disdain of the past and from feelings of inadequacy and helplessness; the farm will be his/her portion of Mother Earth that will give not only the staff of life but also the joy of living”.
I vote NO to HB 1257as it could be used by landlords, big agribusinesses and those with personal motives and interests to push for initiatives to develop corporate farms and facilitate foreign and local agricultural investments through the concept of a so-called Agrarian Reform Community (ARC). The ARC, I believe, would only increase the insecurity and loss of land tenure in the countryside.
Finally, I vote NO to CARP extension because it is clearly only meant to perpetuate the present flawed and bogus CARP in order to suit the needs of big landlords and agribusinesses. To pass this legislation would prove detrimental especially to small and landless farmers since introducing reforms to the present flawed CARP undermines the historical and rightful claim of farmers to own the land they till for free.
I vote NO because I firmly believe that requiring farmers to pay for the land they till is the biggest flaw of the present CARP – merely making it a real estate transaction between landlords and farmers with the government acting the role of broker.
Instead of extending the flawed CARP, Kabataan Party-list calls for a genuine land reform program that upholds land distribution as key to its success and completion. ###

A thought from Freire
I cannot be a teacher if I do not perceive with even greater clarity that my prac-tice demands of me a definition of where I stand. A break with what is not right ethically. I must choose between one thing and another thing. I cannot be a teacher and be in favor of everyone and everything. I cannot be in favor merely of people, humanity, vague phrases far from the concrete nature of educative prac-tice. Mass hunger and unemployment, side by side with opulence, are not the result of destiny.
(Freire 1998:93)

Magnetism
Positivism. Where do we buy it? Thinking of a happy thought is what Harry needed to do to be able to conjure a Patronus charm. Yes, harry thought of happy thoughts in the face of death... One of the reasons why he was able to reach the end of the story in the seventh book. He needed to ward off useless thoughts to be able to proceed in defeating the Dark Lord. He needed to defeat every dingle dementor that would come his way, because he cannot at any single fleeting moment, fail.
And I have to think of happy thoughts... Not just happy thoughts, but optimistic thoughts to get through.
Oh but how? In have to get through with one paper and I don't have time left. Bwahahaha!
Let's talk about positivism next time.

Lack of Sleep
It always happens. When I lack the ample amount of sleep, I end up straining my eyes for nonsense. What with trying to mechanically construct sentences that speak of nothing? What with mechanically typing from a mind whose thoughts are in an immersion in a sea of doubt, anxiety and cluelessness?
Inside my mind is a cloud of uncertainty I cannot describe. I wish to find clarity but I can't seem to manage. I want to go somewhere but I do not have the directions on how to get there. Only left with a lot of time wasted figuring out ways to move, I feel stuck at a certain crossroad not knowing which way to go. I know where I want to go but the paths all seems the same! It's either I feel boxed out or what.
In this predicament, I find myself as the only solution to my dilemmas. I only need time but for some reasons, I choose not to spend it for thinking. Hay... I want to give my mind a rest. Summer is over and I haven't prepared for the next season...
For the mean time, I just want to surround myself with people who can tolerate me and ride with the limitless eccentricities that I can manifest. I wish for no one to attempt imposing things on me, for which I have been exhausted my entire life.
Let me set my spirit free.
Allow me to let things be.
Anxious.
Deliberately getting off track.
Maybe it was the inability to function wholly, healthily.
Maybe it was just the lack of sleep.
Identify the things that are, and the things that are just merely...
a state of mind.

Powell's Five Levels of Communication (Simply Said)
Powell suggests that people are afraid to tell you who they REALLY are because you may not like them. . .thus, we reveal ourselves in "levels" or stages:
The lowest level is cliché.
"Hi, how are you?" "Whazzup?"
It really isn't a cliché in the definitive way, but it is a rote pattern of speaking. Do you really care how someone is when you say: "Hi, how are you?" Does a person on the street stop to respond in detail when you say this?
The second level is reporting about others.
"How do you think the Cowboys will do this year?" "Dunno, but how about Jerry Jones' face lift. He looks like a lizard."
This does not reveal anything personal about ourselves. It is simply a slightly more complex mode of communicating with others; we could call it "water fountain" conversation. The third level is judgment.
"Joe Blow is a moron, and if you don't agree, you're one too.
At this level, two people in a communication mode are able to express themselves, but one or the other does not pursue the expression with evidence or backup. Or, one or the other could decide to end the conversation by calling the other a name.
The fourth level is gut level.
Describe this kind of communication. This usually occurs between two people who know each other well and do not worry about convention. It usually involves judgment plus evidence or justification. The two people, called a dyad, come to conclusions through mutual satisfaction.
The highest level is PEAK.
Describe this kind of communication. This level occurs between two people involved in a marriage or a significant relationship. People in this relationship seem to know intuitively what each other thinks.

I was Kidnapped to Watch Star Trek's Last Full Show Last Night
Rating: | ★★★★ |
Category: | Movies |
Genre: | Science Fiction & Fantasy |
The effects are truly realistic, like the beaming-thing... it looked more magical than SciFiey. The twist was fascinating, the concept of _________ (spoiler) was used at a moderate level, not much abused. (Alright I agree with the one who argued with me about its abuse in HP3..hmp ü).
Although at some points of the movie, I found Chris Pine's portrayal of a slacker turned brilliant captain too stereotypical, somewhat present in all other American movies. Oh well... at a tolerable level in any case...Tolerable for the fact that he was ______ by his leading lady prospect and... (oops! spoiler)
But the movie is not a bad concept after all. But not too perfect though. I never was a fan of Star Trek so I can never rate it in terms of its adaptation.
Just one promise: It is 98% cheese-free!
Can't wait for the sequel.
I no longer regret getting kidnapped by the two of you last night. Peace. Hehe. ü (I still have to watch 60 episodes of something... Go me! I can do it!)

Deliberately Going Off Track
Lazing out...
The tension between those who know combat... and those who propagate the myth, usually ends with the mythmakers working to silence the witnesses of war.
Chris Hedges
2002 Pulitzer Prize Winner for reporting on global terrorism.
Could not be any truer. Data on political killings and the killings of journalist is enough proof for this.
In any case...
Bored.
I can't write about something that is already obvious and already there.
I'll just listen to El Hazard songs.

Reminds me...
I've heard these songs tons of times way back in High School, especially Gatsu Nu Shukumei!
Take note that the 11th song is 7 minutes of trance.
Allow your memories to fray for 4 minutes++ with Ifurita's Theme.
The first three songs lead me to more vivid pictures of high school, and bus rides from Laguna to Parañaque every morning of years ago. ü
